Most Weatherby Mark Vs are considered "collectible" just because of what they are, if you put iron sites on a gun not designed or equipped with them you just cut the value of the rifle in a high percentage, hundreds of dollars less. If you need a rifle with open sights find something like a Remington BDL or Model 7, or others with a gun them originally. Many actions have lever open sights, and if you have a Browning BLR or Savage 99 you can use a modern high-power cartridge as 308.30-06, etc., instead of 30-30. You can take your Weatherby and get it hacked, but most owners and care dealers try to convince you to do for your own finances and care of the rifle.
