Question about adding Scope Rings?

http://www.weaveroptics.com/rings_bases/rings/detachable_alum/standard_detachable.aspx See the two small flat-head screws on top of the rings. How tight are they supposed to be tight? I have pretty tight, but there is a small space, which looks lame. It is a scope 1 hit "Weaver Rings with these 1" should not tighten flush? But I do not want to spoil the scope squeezing too hard.

There will be a gap. One would think he would escape, but it will not. If there was no gap when tightened, then it would not be able to keep the scope of the strongest, especially if a better scope with loose tolerances. You do not get all that well sealed. Just a good solid hand tight will be many. You do not want to keep the force as you may damage your scope. If you plan to leave the field there for some time you can put a drop of Loctite on the screws and then put them in tight and they will try to stay put.
