What are the different main things that make a digital SLR prefer to buy a good bridge camera (Canon SX20 IS)?
Hello, I always prefer that the bridge to take some different glasses. I remembered my old Praktica MTL3 and VLC3 with their lenses (20,29,50,135,200 mm and 80-200mm) that they are so heavy for all our vacation even they gave good image quality. So I bought Sony DSC-S700 which also gave great images. Now im thinking of the Canon SX20 IS (12MP, 20x, F2.8-5.7) and Fujifilm F70EXR (10MP, 10X, F3.4-5.9), where they have movie modes and macro. I print mostly with dimensions: 4X6, 6X9 and 8X12 inch sometimes. Thus I need a digital SLR with different objectives which cost more than $ 1200?. Some friends prefer buying DSLR body and mounting adapter to make full use M42 lens Praktica, but I will do manual focus only! . Do you think it's a good idea? Thank you.
Whether you go with an SLR or bridge is personal choice, and the depth of your pockets. I would not recommend getting a body and a M42 mount digital SLR so you can use your old lenses, you will soon be bored to the point of distraction. If you want full creative control, and we are considering special types of files, I'd get a DSLR with a lens that covers approximately 20mm-200mm input.
