What would be a good goal which covers just about everything for D70?
I take a trip this summer and I really do not want to take a lens with me. So I'm looking for something that can cover a distance good enough, perhaps as a 200mm or 300mm? But I also want it to be able make a good landscape shot. I love the D70 kit lens, especially as it is wide angle. If there is something similar I have obtained would be great. If you could give me a good cheap lens and also an end much higher. I'm still trying to come up with the budget.
I suppose you want to use your kit lens to cover the range 18-70mm. What you need is a complement for distances up to 300mm. You have a good set of lenses affordable here, two Sigma 70-300mm F4-5, 6 DG APO Macro (which has glass APO) $ 210 + 70-300mm F4-5, 6 DG Macro Tamron AF70 $ 180 +- A 300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Lens + $ 180 Nikon mentioned above, it marks the alternative. It is more expensive $ 270 + best return on investment in this class is probably the Sigma APO. higher zoom lenses are of two classes: low to mid-range zoom with good Sigma 100-300mm F/4.0 EX DG IF HSM Autofocus $ 900 Sigma 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 EX DG APO OS (Optical stalibizer) $ 1,000 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 Tokina AT-X 840AF $ 500 Nikon 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED Autofocus Lens (Vibration Reduction) $ 1200 + up Opening those with reduced range (70-200 mm f / 2.8). These zoom lenses are generally very good and generally used by journalists which combine with a wide angle. Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG $ 850 + Tokina 80-200mm f/2.8 AT-X 828AF Pro $ 600 Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 G-AFS ED-IF $ 1600 + This lens is high quality and has a vibration reduction Nikon 80-200 mm f/2.8 ED AF-D $ 850 (plus the equivalent of the foregoing, no reduction vibration) Tokina lenses can be a bit harder to find than others.
