Favorite big game caliber thats fast but hits hard under 1200$?
Looking for a caliber with great power but still has the range. I like the 30-378 and .340, the .338 also catches my eye. i considered the 300 wby but am not sure. The .300 short mag looks good also. i considered the .375 but decided it was too large for what ill be hunting since the biggest in the next 5+ years is probably elk and larger black bear. I don't believe myself to be recoil shy. The price of the weatherby calibers hurts but dont know if i want a standard caliber. I will not spend more than around the thousand dollar mark for just the rifle. i love the mark V's. but would shoot other gun makers or weatherby models. please help!
I've never seen any big game caliber where a box of ammo cost more than $1200
Based on the chamberings you've listed, you have no idea what the F**K you are doing.
I suggest in that case you get a nice rifle chambered in 270 winchester, 30-06, 308, or one of the various other 'universal' cartridges
